1. Can I print bar codes with Unified Barcode & RFID Edition of NiceLabel?
As NiceLabel is bar code labeling software, all editions of NiceLabel support all industrial standard linear and 2-D bar code types. For complete list please refer to the NiceLabel Specifications.
2. Does Unified Barcode & RFID's NiceLabel Solution support import of text files?
You can design labels to include all kinds of variable fields (text, graphics, bar code) with contents from text files (comma separated, fixed length fields, etc.) or almost any common database.
3. What types of databases are supported?
Unified Barcode & RFID Edition of NiceLabel features native support for all standard databases (Access, dBase, Paradox, FoxPro) and text files. Moreover, there is also full 32-bit ODBC support, which gives you the opportunity to use practically all common databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle, AS/400, etc.)
4. What are the limitations in label design?
With Unified Barcode & RFID Edition of NiceLabel there are almost no limitations as far as the label design and data retrieving are concerned. There are no limitations on the number of elements on the label (text fields, bar codes, linked fields, graphic files, etc.), and on the number of used databases.
5. Can I search for product in database by key?
Of course! You enter the product number and the program automatically finds the appropriate record. You can also link different databases with the same key number. Advanced users can use built-in query builder or write their own SQL queries for complex database usage.
6. Can I use 2-D bar codes?
Besides the support for all standard linear bar codes, you can also count on 2-D bar code support. Please see the Specifications page for the latest list of supported bar codes.
7. I have to print EAN.UCC 128 (SSCC) bar codes? Is there any support for Application Identifiers?
Special EAN.UCC 128 Bar code Wizard with more than 100 predefined AI's will give you active support for using EAN.UCC 128 bar code.
8. Does Unified Barcode & RFID Edition of NiceLabel support my (thermal transfer) printer?
NiceLabel can use any printer with Windows driver. And with specially designed NiceDrivers, it offers optimal support for thermal transfer printers.
9. What it is the difference between using NiceDrivers and other drivers for thermal transfer printers?
The main difference is the printing speed. Using NiceDrivers, you can considerably increase the speed of printing. Using other drivers, you can come across the impossibility of the support of some advanced printers or program functionality.
10. I already have data processing application that should also take care of label printing. How can I integrate bar code label printing in my application?
The most powerful NiceLabel's characteristics are its connectivity and integration options. You can use NiceLabel for label design and have a complete control of printing, data on the label, target printer, and label quantity directly from your application. Using Active X and other programming interfaces, you can seamlessly integrate powerful label printing in Access, Visual Basic, Delphi or any other application.
11. What is the difference between individual NiceLabel products?
Due to different needs, we have divided NiceLabel software in several editions. There are Standard line, used for printing on office printers (laser, inkjet, etc.), Professional line, slimmed down Express edition, Pro with full database and programming support, and Suite with additional modules providing creation of custom solutions, database manager, printing from network, and more.
12. How does Unified Barcode & RFID Edition of NiceLabel Network Solution differ from NiceLabel Suite?
Both editions incorporate the same functionality and the same additional modules (NiceForm, NiceWatch, NiceData, NiceMemMaster). The Network edition however has some characteristics of its own:
- the application is installed to the server, workstations can use shortcuts to application or local copy
- users share default file directory, user list and printing log
- requires non-stop file access to the network server
- workstation install is done from the server in easiest and fastest way
- protected by unique registration number instead of the hardware key
- simplified administration tasks for large-scale installations
- the major advantage of Network edition is very attractive pricing policy for more users.
13. How can I integrate label-printing process into company's ERP application?
You can design labels in a user-friendly environment and use NiceLabel's special "Export to SAP R/3" option. Exported file is uploaded to the SAP R/3 system and printed on demand directly from the SAP R/3, without Unified Barcode & RFID's NiceLabel or any additional software being installed. All other ERP systems can use numerous other NiceLabel's connectivity options, including data passing by means of text files, direct programming, or automatic printing by means of NiceWatch synchronisation module
