Unified Barcode & RFID, Inc is a single-source data collection provider of Barcode and RFID hardware, Point-of-Sale Systems, and Consumables. Headquartered in Palatine, Unified Barcode & RFID, Inc is conveniently located 15 minutes Northwest of Route 53 and I90.

We are looking for an exceptional Symbol Bench Technician. This individual will be responsible for repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining wireless data terminals and laser barcode scanners plus:
  • Procure, evaluate, and maintain stock of electronic components / parts
  • Maintain laboratory test equipment and tools
Qualifications
Selected candidate must possess the following:
  • Minimum of 1 year Symbol handheld scanner experience (testing, repair, rebuilding, etc.).
  • Intermec & PSC handheld scanner experience (preferred).
  • Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in a related field (preferred).
  • PC literate including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent electro-mechanical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and written skills.
  • Detail oriented and well organized.
  • Work cooperatively as a team player.
  • Punctuality and reliability.
  • Ability to read and comprehend detailed guidelines and instructions.
  • Ensure that correct procedures are followed.
  • Strong trouble shooting skills.
  • Ability to work alone and be self-managed.
  • Ability to use various small hand tools.
  • Ability to stand 10%, walk 10%, sit 75%, and drive 5%.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
