New General Purpose 2D Bar Code Imager. More power, snappier and more robust! The Gryphon D432 / D412 Plus is a second generation general purpose 2D imager. It is replacing the Gryphon D432/ D412 reader and is equipped with new optics and electronics, including a wide-aspect VGA sensor for improved reading performance, especially on long PDF417 codes.  The Gryphon D432 / D412 Plus combines the outstanding omnidirectional reading capability of 1D codes with GS1 DataBar™, PDF417, 2D and Postal Codes. With great ergonomics and reduced time-to-read, the Gryphon D provides the ideal single solution for cost sensitive environments that require high throughput such as retail and light industrial applications. Because of its extreme versatility, the D432 / D412 Plus is suitable for applications requiring different characteristics and throughput. For retail applications, it guarantees top of the range reading snappiness on PDF bar codes, enhanced motion tolerance and a complete connectivity to the most popular interfaces including IBM. Retailers can also use the same unit to read linear bar codes at the checkout, or to read PDF or 2D bar codes placed on customer ID’s as well as capture signatures or checks. The Gryphon 2D reader can also represent a value added solution when sold as a secondary scanner with the Datalogic Magellan bi-optic scanner by providing an additional wide range of image capture capabilities in addition to speed and accuracy of linear handheld scanners. For more complex applications such as Healthcare, Postal or light industrial manufacturing, the Gryphon 2D also provides document reading capability and unique and distinctive features such as the well known patented "Green Spot" for good read feedback and the efficient "5 laser dots" aiming system. Additionally, the new CMOS image sensor features "global shutter" architecture, providing accurate code/image capture capability even when bar codes are placed on fast moving objects (motion tolerance feature). This architecture offers precise control over an image sensor's exposure time, freezing the digital image when scanned. From the application point of view, this capability allows end users to more easily aim and scan. Always Up-to-date Because of its FLASH memory, the firmware of the Gryphon D432 / D412 Plus reader can be easily updated in the field.
