Manufacturer Warranties
We honor all manufacturers' warranties and will assist you with any product defect. If a product arrives Dead on Arrival (DOA), please call Unified Barcode & RFID at (800) 705-9721. In most cases, we will replace items that are Dead on Arrival (DOA) during the time period indicated by each manufacturer in the list below. After that, we will help you contact the manufacturer for warranty repair or replacement.
The list below is a guideline of the general warranty statements by the various manufacturers listed in alphabetical order by manufacturer. This is just a guide and is subject to change at any time without notice and is only an example of coverage—not a guarantee.
3M Touch Systems (MicroTouch)
- 5 year warranty on sensor and touch controller.
- 3 year warranty on monitors.
- DOA - 30 days.
American Power Conversion
- 2 year warranty.
- Customer calls APC before RMA. DOA - 30 days.
APG
- 2 year warranty. DOA - 30 days.
- 3* year warranty on Series 4000 only. DOA - 30 days.
- *Pending registration, APG now offers a 2 year extension on the standard 3 year warranty.
Axiohm
- 1 year warranty. DOA - 30 days.
Cherry Electrical Products
- 1 year warranty. DOA - 30 days.
Citizen
- 1 - 2 years warranty depending upon model. DOA - 30 days.
Cognitive
- 2 year warranty. DOA - 30 days.
Datacard
- 1 year warranty. DOA - 30 days.
Datamax
- 3 year warranty on I-Class
- 5 year warranty on W-Class
- 1 year on all other printers.
- Printhead warranty is 1 year or 1,000,000 linear inches of printing, whichever comes first.
- DOA - 30 days from ScanSource invoice date (no DOA on printheads).
Elo TouchSystems
- Accutouch 2/5 years, Intelltouch - 2/10/5 year. DOA - 30 days.
Eltron Card Printers
- 1 year warranty. DOA - 30 days.
Epson America
- 1 - 2 years warranty depending upon model. DOA - 30 days.
HHP
- Input products - 180 days to 5 year warranty, depends upon model.
- PDT products - 90 days to one year warranty, depends upon model.
- DOA - 30 days.
IBM Point of Sale
- IBM SureOne & 4840 - 1 year depot. Product not working when taken out of the box the first time is returnable.
- IBM 4694 & 4800 - 1 year on site. No return policy.
- IBM 4610 & 4820 - Ask Sales Specialist for details. No return policy.
ICVerify
- 1 year warranty on hardware. DOA - 30 days.
ID TECH
- 1 year warranty. DOA - 30 days.
Intermec Technologies Corp.
- Bar code printers, data collection terminals & access points - 1 year.
- Laser & standard CCD scanners - 3 years.
- Linear Imager/VISTA Scanners - 5 years.
- Software - 30 days.
- Printheads - 90 days.
- DOA - 30 days from ScanSource invoice date.
Ithaca Peripherals (Transact)
- 2 year warranty. DOA - 30 days.
Javelin Systems Inc.
- 1 year warranty. DOA - 30 days from ScanSource invoice date.
Loftware
- 90 day replacement policy from ScanSource invoice date for distribution media, manuals and licenses. Key warranty policy: non functioning keys will be replaced free of charge for one year from the ScanSource invoice date. Beyond one year for broken, lost or stolen keys call your ScanSource Account Executive.
Logic Controls
- 1 year warranty. DOA - 30 days.
Mag-Tek
- 1 year warranty on MICR, Wedge and RS232 readers.
- 90 day warranty on TTL readers. Must contact ScanSource, not Mag-Tek.
- DOA - No returns
Metrologic
- 24 month warranty from date of manufacture.
- Voyager Series - 5 years.
- DOA - 30 days.
MMF Cash Drawer
- 2 year warranty from manufacture date.
- DOA - 30 days.
NCR
- 7448, 7451, 7460 workstations 90 day depot.
- All other workstations 90 days on site.
- 7837, 7892 scanners 90 day depot.
- All other scanners 90 days on site.
- PC/Servers one year warranty.
- DOA - Call ScanSource Technical Support.

- 5 year warranty except laser products.
- Laser products have 2 year warranty.
- DOA - 30 days.

- All printers have a one year depot level warranty.
- Printheads for 9800 and 9400 Series: 1 million inches prorated.
- Printheads for Pathfinder, Rascal and Renegade: 1 year.
- DOA - 30 days from ScanSource invoice date.

- 1 year. Call Pioneer direct for DOA information.
Preh
- 1 year. DOA - 30 days.
PSC/Percon
- QuickScan 1000 - 24 months
- QuickScan 6000 - 60 months
- PowerScan - 24 months
- Magellan - 12 months

- Decoders - 60 months
- Support on software - resolution of one incident free.
- Maintenance agreements are required for resolution of additional incidences.
- DOA - 30 days from invoice date.

- 30 day warranty. DOA - 30 days.

- 1 year warranty. DOA - 30 days.
Sato
- 1 year warranty on printers
- 1 year or 500,000 linear inches on printheads, whichever comes first.
- DOA - 30 days.
StrandWare (Teklynx)
- 30 days. DOA - 30 days.
Symbol Technologies
- All scanners and terminals have a 1 year warranty except the following: LS1000, LS1900, LS2100, and LS4000 series have a 5 year warranty.
- Datawands and serialized accessories have a 90 day warranty
- unserialized accessories have 30 day warranty.
- DOA - 15 days.
Teklynx
- 90 day warranty on software.
- 1 year warranty on non-functioning hardware (does not include damage by lightening or misuse.)
- Must contact ScanSource, not Teklynx.
- DOA - 30 days from ScanSource invoice date.
Unitech
- 1 year warranty. DOA - 30 days.
Verifone
- 1 year repair. 800-654-1684. Call Verifone direct for DOA information.
Viewmagic
- 1 year warranty. DOA - 30 days from ScanSource invoice date.
